In another incident, a 17-year-old man was arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The incident occurred in Kareesberg Street, Eldorado Park.
“Allegations point out that the complainant was at home with his cousins and friends listening to music and socialising,” said Khobo.
“An argument ensued between the suspect and parents, the suspect then retaliated by stabbing his father in the face. His father was hospitalised. The suspect has been detained for further investigation and will appear in court soon,” Khobo added.
Police officers have said that it is never easy when parents have to report their children.
“No parent wants to see their child or loved one in prison. It affects the entire family,” said Khobo.
“However, residents are advised to report all crime-related incidents. The police station is open to assist the community. We urge residents to make use of the many services available at the police station,” Khobo concluded.
