3 people, including a 9-year-old child, have been killed after their vehicle overturned on Langebaan Road near the Engen One Stop garage on the West Coast this afternoon. Western Cape provincial traffic says 3 others, including a 6-year-old child, have been seriously injured. Two more people escaped with minor injuries. Provincial traffic chief Kenny Africa says the driver of the vehicle is among the survivors. He was arrested for drunken driving. The sad thing is that it’s legal to have people sit on the back of an open bakkie. But let you get caught not wearing your safety belt….. Really?

Magda I agree…I met some of them for the first time this afternoon…they were supposed to be on their way to Moorreesburg…why they end up in Langebaan I dont know…the kids swim …the guy lying next to the bakkie also took a dip…lets leave stuff as it is and dont judge…I know the driver for quite some time..always driving safely…so what happen lets just pray for the deseased aswell as those alive…may their souls rest in peace…Im glad I met them this afternoon in Hopefield and wave them goodbye
