A cinematic feast awaits film fundis and the general public from next week during the annual Cape Town International Film Market and Festival. The organisers say 120 new feature films, shorts and documentaries from across the globe will be on show at the V&A Waterfront between nine and 19 October. Filmmakers from about 80 countries have submitted films this year under the theme “Create, Collaborate and Celebrate”. Prestigious overseas film markets, festivals and sales companies have already confirmed attendance for the event’s various activities. Dozens of international filmmakers, delegates and jury members are expected to converge on the Mother City from this weekend. A black-tie award ceremony and dinner will be held at the end of the festival to recognise the best work across 14 categories.
