A group of shack dwellers living on a pavement at Scottsdene in Kraaifontein say…

A group of shack dwellers living on a pavement at Scottsdene in Kraaifontein say they’re in dire need of proper housing. They’ve been left destitute after their makeshift homes were demolished last week. They say they were lured to the area by a local community forum to apply pressure at a construction site to get formal housing. The group claims they were evicted from the building about a year ago. Many say they’re now destitute: “We don’t know where to go now. Where we stayed last year we gave our places up and we have nowhere to go now we can’t go back to where we came from. I don’t know where to from here really, now everything is gone. There’s nothing here, people are not living in shacks they are living under sheets, so to where go to from here I don’t know?.” The group is calling on government to assist them to find proper shelter, saying they have been duped and lied to all in the hope of getting a home of their own. The community forum could not be reached for comment.

  1. Now where is the ringleaders/instigators now that caused a multi million rand housing project to stop in it’s tracks a project that was going to uplift the area

  2. What can go wrong in SA with unlawfulness like this! Why get 5-6 children per person and can’t provide for THEM
