A local bakery in Blue Blowns has became the third store in the Western…

A local bakery in Blue Blowns has became the third store in the Western Cape store to be revamped as part of the spaza moderation programme. The programme, that has been initiated by a leading retailer in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism, will assist beneficiaries in modernising their stores with equipment and teaching owners business skills. Department spokesperson, Bianca Capazorio, says the owners of the Something Nice bakery have welcomed the revamp after a fire damaged most of its equipment: “It’s a store that has been in the community for a number of years but it suffered a fire last year. It was chosen by the spaza modernisation programme which is run by the Pick ‘n Pay. They introduces new product lines and also add new services. So, now the shop also offers things like money transfers, ticket sales.”
