Advocacy Group #Unite Behind has questioned the timing of the most recent attacks on Metrorail trains in Cape Town. Two trains were torched at Cape Town Station today. Hours prior to the attack the board of PRASA appeared before Parliament’s Transport Portfolio Committee to address issues plaguing Metrorail. #Unite Behind Organiser Zukie Vuka believes the timing of these arson attacks speaks volumes behind the motive. Vuka believes the arson attacks are done with the intention to destabilise PRASA: “When Blade Nzimande flew down to Cape Town when he went to Ottery to see the last trains which were burnt, if you have seen the pattern exactly a day after when he had meeting with stakeholders, trains were burnt. So we are saying there is an ulterior motive to destabilise and cause chaos on our trains.”
