Aug 2, 2019Port Elizabeth – While conducting disruptive operations in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, alert Anti-Gang Unit and Metro police members arrested four suspects, aged between 23 and 30, in Mkhombo Street, NU1.”It is alleged that on Thursday, at about 01:30, police noticed a white Datsun Go with four male occupants parked near a premises they were searching,” described police spokesperson, Col Priscilla Naidu.”The vehicle was tactfully approached and stopped.”On searching the vehicle, a 9mm Norinco firearm was found behind the driver’s seat. The vehicle was allegedly hijacked in Humewood in July.”She said that the firearm was not reported stolen.”A replica firearm was also confiscated,” Col Naidu said.”Detectives are busy profiling these suspects to establish whether they can be linked to other cases in the Metro.”They are detained on a charges of possession of a hijacked vehicle as well as illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.”She added that the confiscated firearm will be sent to ballistics for analysis.Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
