A group of Alexandra residents have staged a sit-in outside the Sandton regional offices of the City of Johannesburg municipality.
This march is a culmination of a protest held last week, wherein residents were aggrieved over the mushrooming of illegal dwellings and other service delivery failures. They are calling for an end to the rampant crime in the area and want the government to take action against youth unemployment and widespread substance abuse.
We chat to our reporter Maagthetla Motlhabi and Manqoba Mchunu for an update on the situation.
