An ANC Ward councillor has strongly condemned the violence in Lwandle and Nomzamo near…

An ANC Ward councillor has strongly condemned the violence in Lwandle and Nomzamo near Somerset West. Simthembile Mfecane also blames a newly formed political party for instigating the protests. The violence broke out yesterday afternoon after the City’s Red Ants started breaking down structures that were set up illegally on an open piece of land near the N2 highway. Mfecane says the land, which belongs to a private construction company, is earmarked for the development of a mall. Mfecane says negotiations between all roleplayers and the community went well until the Land party instigated the land grab. The situation remains volatile and entrances to Lwandle and Nomzamo remain closed. A stakeholder meeting is planned to discuss the way forward.

  1. Wish I could have a free house and land. No other Country in the world builds free houses only on SA. By all means build houses for them but charge them rent like other governments then the income generated goes towards building new houses.

  2. As a Land Party we are not here to destroy we try to fix up ANC& DA was mess up already we raise our voice
