ANC members have staged a walkout of the Western Cape Provincial Legislature amid Premier, Helen Zille’s, final state of the province address. The action follows continued heckling by the opposition who argued that the true state of the province is contrary to what the Premier is presenting. Zille has told the gathering that the province has the lowest unemployment rate in the country, has a 72 percent success rate on land reform and has spent 82 percent of the provincial government budget on the poor.
