The mob set fire to his two houses. On Tuesday night, rumours spread through Ga-Mmachowana in Maleboho that livestock farmer Philemon Madibogo’s alleged killer was in the village.Winnie Setjie (43) said her brother Philemon (61) and two others went out on 16 March in search of livestock thieves. But Philemon got separated from the other men. When he came across the thugs, they apparently stabbed him to death.“We searched for Philemon but only found him the next day,” said Winnie. “They stabbed him and stripped him of his clothes.”She said they knew something was wrong when a stranger answered his phone.“We don’t know anything about the burnt houses, but we want justice,” she said. “Philemon’s killers showed no mercy. How do you kill a person and strip him of his clothes?” The man whose house was burnt fled after he found out the community was baying for his blood. Police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said one suspect was arrested and charged with murder while two others are still on the run. “The arrested suspect has already appeared in the Seshego Magistrates Court and was denied bail,” said Ngoepe. “He will appear again on Thursday for a bail application. “Not arrests have been made for the arson attack, but investigations are still under way.”
