Kraaifontein fireman put to rest another senseless killing

From Charenelle

Today we said our final goodbyes to you Nicholas “Lippie” Pedro. At the age of 30 you achieved and accomplished your dreams and goals in life and knew exactly what you wanted out of life.Youve played a positive role and left your footprint in everyones lives youve touch and whos path youve crossed. Those of us who was fortunate to have had the opportunity to having you play a role in our lives, as well as the community of the various areas in Kraaifontein, are finding it hard to believe and understand why someone who was not only a fireman, but a prominent rugby player @Hands and Hearts, then Young Stars, part of the Rebels team (combined team from various rugby clubs in our area), who found hes way back to Hands and Hearts as the Head Coach u21team whos team has grown since youve returned back to the club, but most importantly someone who cared about hes community, whos showed interest in what was happening and it was a great concern what our community has become, whos changed the mindset of many, both young and old, giving them hope and making them realise that the area you come from and the circumstances or conditions you live in doesn’t define who you are as a person, to never stop dreaming, to be part of a gang or to sell drugs isnt the only option and that there is a way out and greater things installed was shot and killed in broad daylight was taken away from us in such a cold hearted way without anybody seeing. What has become of our area, our kids don’t have the opportunity of knowing how lekker it is to play in the park,or play 3sticks, kennetjie, hop-scotch etc. If one could make such a big difference in hes community, could change lives, imagine what a difference a community can make. The words of the pastor las week as stuck in my head and hes right we as the Kraaifontein Community should stand together and say enough is enough, innocent people both young and old are being wounded or killed daily. Most people are ignorant and arrogant and turning a blind eye to the shootings and no its not just happening jn the scottesdene, scottesville and eikendal its happening in belmont park as well.It is sad to see how our justice system has failed us because people are too scared to speak out about what they’ve seen because their safety and the protection of them or their family isnt a guarantee. Lippie, you are considered as a HERO to the community you tried so hard to make a difference in and your Legacy will live on forever. A HERO has fallen who was loved and adored by many, hes death should be a wake up call to everyone.Live each day like it’s the last cause you never know when it might end.those arrested were school kids and have been released as ppl are scared to say what they saw cos whos gona protecthem.he received threatening sms’s prior to hes death, someone was in hes mothers yard as well kids in hes team left the ganglife to play rugby.he was respected and well know by many and today as hes funeral due to hes personality and the respect that they had for him various members of gangs to show respect.he wasnt a gang member at all.there coupsve been blood shed today yet not one ounce of that was lost at hes funeral recently another person in witness protection from scottesville was killed.when willl our justice system stop failing us ?
