Another truck has overturned in the Western Cape – this time on the N1…

Another truck has overturned in the Western Cape – this time on the N1 between De Doorns and Touws River. Provincial Traffic chief Kenny Africa says the driver lost control and the truck, carrying an unknown load, is lying on its side across the N1. Africa says the left shoulder of the national highway is being used to let the traffic pass. The driver sustained light injuries. Africa says it’s the seventh truck that have overturned in the province since yesterday morning. One driver died yesterday when his truck, carrying a load of wind turbines, went down the mountainside in the Piekenierskloof pass between Citrusdal and Eendekuil.

  1. How regular does these companies service their vehicles? They let their drivers drive in this terrible weather without checking all the vital detail/s of their company vehicles.

  2. Trust no fatalities or serious injuries, Please we all know when the weather is bad delay the trip it’s safer than to loose a life , the good will be late and the driver will have a chance to do more trips , think before sending drivers on the road on bad weather

  3. Is this because of strong wind touwrs river i sleept there yesterday the wind was very high between worster and towers river

  4. Utilisation of rail for such huge loads especially in windy seasons to avoid loss to industries and families.
