Two armed robbers made off with goods to the value of R30, 000 during an armed robbery in the Eastbury area on Friday morning.
The victim was asleep in the bedroom upstairs when he was awakened by two unknown men.

One suspect produced a knife while the other withdrew a firearm and held it to his head.
The suspects then demanded the victim to come downstairs with them where they then demanded jewellery and cash before they began assaulting him.
When the victim shouted to alert his neighbour, the suspects fled into the bushes towards Eastbury Drive.
The suspects took an LG television off the wall, one LG DVD player, an LG amp, a computer and cellular phones to the value of R30, 000.

Cpt Louise Naidoo, communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, said, “The victim stated that when he came downstairs, he noticed the items were removed from the house. The suspects forced open the sliding door and cut away the bars from the gate to gain entry. The victim’s wife and son were in the second bedroom and not confronted. A case of house robbery has been opened and is currently under investigation at Phoenix SAPS. No arrests have been made yet.”
