As Women’s Month draws to an end, concern is mounting about the continued attacks…

As Women’s Month draws to an end, concern is mounting about the continued attacks on women. The non-profit organisation, SA Women Fight Back, today held a protest outside the SABC building in Sea Point in Cape Town to highlight the plight of abused women and children. Wearing all-black, members held-up placards calling for more action to address the problem. Founder of the group Bronwyn Litkie says countless innocent people have died in the hands of their partners. Meanwhile, in the Eastern Cape, a Port Elizabeth doctor was rushed to hospital today after she was shot in the head, allegedly by her husband in their Summerstand home. Three young children were present in the house.

  1. Campaigns are really working hard to fight this, problem is the lenient laws. They’re quick to shoot because the consequences are nothing.
