Members of the anti-gang unit in Cape Town have arrested four suspects and seized fire arms and illegal drugs in Bishop Lavis. Police spokesperson Novella Potelwa says two men, aged 49 and 24, were arrested early this morning on the corner of Bishop Lavis Drive and Sparrow Street. They were allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. She says soon afterwards, a 23 -year old man was arrested in nearby Malawi informal settlement. Police seized two firearms, magazines, ammunition, firearm parts and a substantial quantity of Tik. Potelwa says in a third location, a 22-year old man was arrested for the alleged possession of Mandrax, Tik and ammunition. The four suspects will appear in the Bishop Lavis Court on charges of the illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and dealing in illegal drugs.
