Upon request, the manageress followed the staff member to the back of the restaurant where she noticed that the men were not the usual delivery men.
Without wasting any time, the suspects produced firearms and forced the manageress to open the safe. She informed them that she did not know how to open the safe.
Aggravated, the suspects forcefully took the safe keys from her and fled.

Speaking to the Phoenix Sun, Verulam SAPS communications officer, Cpt Henry Kisten, confirmed that a case of business robbery was opened at the police station and that police were working tirelessly to bring the suspects to book.
“The three suspects fled the scene on foot. No shots were fired and no staff members were injured during the robbery,” Cpt Kisten said.
In a separate incident, five days prior, a sunglasses store at the mall was broken into and sunglasses to the value of R100, 000 were stolen.
“The suspects gained entry into the store by breaking the main glass door and stole sunglasses,” he said.
Cpt Kisten went on to warn the public to always be security conscious.
“Whether at work or at home, always be conscious. Criminals commit crimes at any given time. Residents must always ensure that their doors are locked at all times especially during the evening,” Cpt Kisten said.
Members of the public must also not open their doors to strangers.
