BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: More arrested after armed robbery in Bethal – Ridge Times

[12:00] UPDATE:
A resident of Bethalrand told Ridge Times that she phoned the police after her gardener saw the vehicle in which the robbers fled.
“I saw 11 men disappearing into the veld. I could see the clothes they were wearing. Here were people patrolling the streets everywhere. It was very scary,” said the resident.
Two men may have fled in a golden Ford Ranger.
According to an informant on scene 9 armed suspects were arrested.
Bethal Police, Bethal CPF Proto team, Bethal Landelike beveiliging, HABPS security and local farmers all worked together.
It is suspected that three cars were used during the robbery.

BETHAL – Police and local CPF members caught seven suspects that might have been involved in an armed robbery in town this morning.
Police are on the scene.

BETHAL – An armed robbery took place in town central early this morning, 2 July.
A security guard was wounded and transported by Bethal EMS.
Ms Cindy Swart from Bethal EMS said the guard was shot in the chest, but his condition is stable.
The police are on the lookout for a white C class Mercedes with a black boot spoiler that was used in the robbery.
There are eight suspects in the vehicle armed with AK 47 rifles and pistols.
