Cape Town International Airport has recorded an increase of over two-million international passangers in 2018. Marketing agency, WESGRO, says the increase represents a nine percent spike in growth compared to 2017. Western Cape Economic Opportunities Minister, Beverley Schafer, says travelling by domestic passengers has however declined by zero-point-eight percent in December last year. Schafer says she’s pleased with the growth in international passenger numbers despite drought conditions. She says its crucial to ensure that the tourism sector continues to grow and create jobs.
