Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille says the media has played a crucial role…

Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille says the media has played a crucial role in the coverage of the worst drought in living memory in the Western Cape. Dam levels in the Mother City have risen steadily recently due to continued rainfall. They currently stand at 76-percent. De Lille has encouraged journalists to continue holding public representatives accountable for their actions. She will leave her position as mayor at the end of the month. De Lille addressed the media during a function at City Hall. “The drought is a very good example of the partnership between media and government. Through your help and help of team Cape Town, we’ve been able t reduce our water consumption in two years by 55%”, said De Lille. (Pic: File)
