Cape Town Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for a car-jacking in Delft. Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk, says members of the Flying Squad responded to an armed robbery in progress in Delft main road. The driver of a vehicle delivering cigarettes was allegedly robbed of the contents of his vehicle. Van Wyk says the officers spotted one of the vehicles involved in the robbery and gave chase. The driver sped away, later lost control of his vehicle, and drove into a lamp pole in Khayelitsha. Van Wyk says the suspect tried to flee the scene but was apprehended. He says 193 cartons of cigarettes were found in the vehicle. He will appear in court, once charged.
