Cape Town police say Springbok-lock, Eben Etzebeth, has not yet been cleared after charges…

Cape Town police say Springbok-lock, Eben Etzebeth, has not yet been cleared after charges of assault were laid against him at Langebaan on the West Coast. He’s part of the Springbok squad taking part in the World Cup in Japan. The charges were laid following a violent altercation between two groups of men which took place outside a local pub this past weekend. Various versions of the event have been circulating in videos and voice notes on social media. Complainants allege that Etzebeth, along with his brother and friends, hurled racial slurs at them and assaulted their group. The SA Rugby Union says Etzebeth will remain a member of the squad unless authorities ask the organisation to reconsider its decision. Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says, “The circulated voice note is part of the investigation, but the person on the voice note is still unknown. The mentioned person is not yet exonerated by the police as the case is still under investigation.”

  1. he can call me any name.. if I behaved like he called me.. I want even bother.. coz I,m not what he said I am.. man up people !!.. stop being so sensitive !!.. black Americans call each other ‘nigars’.. do u see them throwing out their toys??.. coloured people call blacks the same name whites go to jail for.. ppfff.. its just not being recorded.. blacks call whites pigs coz of their skin colour.. nothing comes from it.. its always the white people who gets the bottom hands.. its pathetic !!.. its k@k to be white in this country..

  2. I hope he also lays a charge against that group of men, if it was a fight between the 2 groups, both should be held accountable

  3. That voice note makes me wonder about his involvement. That guy was with them, he tells everything like it happened, I heard it
