ALL hell broke loose when a scholar transport car was hit by a Toyota Quantum taxi. Footage of the incident which happened in Mamelodi in Tshwane last Thursday shows taxi drivers pulling out guns as they ran towards the scene.They were supporting their colleague after the scholar transport driver and community members got into a fight with the Quantum driver. Tshwane Hospital spokeswoman Zandile Mthimunye’s two children were involved in the accident and she rushed to the scene. She said she heard gunshots and saw people pushing each other during the fight that broke out and later realised she was bleeding. Tshwane Metro police spokesman Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said after the accident, a passerby stopped at the scene and it was discovered he had a firearm. “They tried to disarm him but during the fight, the firearm went off and he was shot in the leg,” he said. Mahamba said a woman also alleged she was shot. He said a case of attempted murder was opened.
