Two males aged Thirty(30) and Fourty Two(42) years old respectively was arrested outside Bishop Lavis Magistrate Court after being found in possession of Firearms and Ammunition .
Two 9mm pistols with Three magazines filled with a total of 45 rounds of Ammunition and one SAR Automatic Rifle with two magazines with a total of 60 Rounds of Ammunition was confiscated. The case is under investigation.

Western Cape: Bishop Lavis Community working with the police to remove illegal Firearms in the area

Bishop Lavis: Police members deployed in the Bishop Lavis area to fight the scourge of #gangsterism, participated in efforts to rid the area of #gang related shootings. The members responded to a complaint of shooting incident that took place today on the corner of Plakkies street and Valhalla Drive, Bishop Lavis where a 20-year-old female was shot and wounded.

Members followed up on information they received from the community and proceeded to Kreefgat. As the members approached the area they noticed two men who fitted the description they received from community. The two suspects were carrying a wooden box and upon searching it, police discovered two firearms and two extended magazines with a total of 47 rounds.

Two men aged 23 and 37 respectively were arrested and once they are charged they will make a court appearance in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates’ Court where they are facing charges of Possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The SAPS in the province will continue with the intelligence driven operations in the area in an effort to ensure safety of the Bishop Lavis community. #CommunityPolicing #GunsOffTheStreets #SaferCommunities

Consistent stop and searched operations by members of Bishop Lavis SAPS, led to the successful recovery OF TWO(2) 9mm pistols and Seven(7) rounds of live ammunition.
Two(2) males aged 25 and 26 years old respectively has been arrested. Once formally charged they will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate Court and face one count of Possession of Prohibited Firearm each.

A 17 year old boy, affiliated to a gang, was arrested in Bonteheuwel in possession of a 9mm Pistol with nine (09) live rounds of ammunition. He will face one count of Possession of firearm and ammunition without a valid licence. A male was arrested in the Valhalla Park area for a large amount of tik found in his possession. The estimated Street value of +-R15000.
A female was arrested in Bishop Lavis area for 1070 mandrax tablets found in her possession…
