Durban-based law firm, Schwenn Inc have extended the campaign for support of the Jes Foord Foundation’s handbag project to run throughout the month of May as well.
The handbag project relies on the support of the community to donate new or used handbags containing items that can assist a rape victim during the initial reporting process at the police station, such as a facecloth, soap and new underwear.
The Jes Foord Foundation aims to pack 400 rape comfort bags (160 handbags and 240 kiddi packs) monthly for over 20 beneficiaries countrywide, who have come to so greatly depend on these bags.
“We’d like to thank those individuals, who have already donated and urge those still interested in assisting to do so,” said Charmaine Schwenn, the director of the company.
