Cosatu will embark on a national strike in the country’s nine provinces to send…

Cosatu will embark on a national strike in the country’s nine provinces to send a message of no retrenchments and jobs for all. The Labour federation announced this in Johannesburg today following its special one day Central Executive Committee meeting. It says workers will down tools on the 13th of February in eight provinces, with another march planned in Cape Town on the eve of the Budget Speech scheduled for the 19th of February. Cosatu says the strike is a legally protected one that all workers can join. Cosatu’s President Zingiswa Losis says the march will highlight the continuing shedding of jobs. (Pic: File)

  1. Reason people are being retrenched is because of the economy. If the company is no longer making enough profit to pay employees, what should it do? Let’s not shift focus now, let’s get rid of corrupt officials

  2. And that strikes will not have repercussions! It can be protected but I’m also protective off my investment! Must mechanized more ,they will not cost me
