Desmin Moonsamy, a Phoenix born and bred resident, describes himself as ‘cosmopolitan and classy’.
The former Mr Phoenix 2012 and current Mr India South Africa finalist 2018, believes that nothing in this life is impossible.
“And if you believe in yourself and dedicate yourself to the process, anything can be possible,” Moonsamy said.
The Mr India South Africa pageant is dedicated to driving young business leaders to become global ambassadors.
The Mr India contestants, aged between 16 to 35, are groomed and taught a few life skills.
“It is a platform that motivates excellence in young men. The pageants combine the arts, business, fashion, and culture,” he said.
He added that long life friendships are also built through the pageant.

“The initiative of this pageant is to also empower young men to become good role models that can impact the communities that they live in,” Moonsamy added.
Moonsamy, who has always been an active child, is still involved in athletics, soccer, and swimming. Sport is an awesome way to distress and socialise, according to the 30-year-old.
Speaking about his favourite quote, Moonsamy recited the Dalai Lama’s ‘The purpose of life is to help others and if you cannot help them, at least don’t hurt them.’
Moonsamy, who is a national coordinator for learning at the Institute For Quality, is an advocate for all things educational and learning.
He has worked on many charitable events. He also hopes to give back to his community and those who are in need.
