Crime officers arrest men for possession of illegal firearms | Phoenix Sun

The Verulam SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested two men for possession of unlicensed firearms in the area.

Cnst Spencer, Cnst Gumede and Cnst Lockai from the Crime Prevention Unit were on duty when they received information on two suspects, who were in possession of unlicensed firearms.
They acted immediately on information received and located the two men.
They were searched and both found to be in possession of unlicensed 9mm pistols. Both were charged with being in possession of unlicensed firearms.

Cpt Henry Kisten, communications officer of Verulam SAPS, said, “Acting provincial commissioner, Lt Gen Mkhwanzi, commended the police for acting so swiftly. There have been a number of serious cases reported whereby firearms were used. We are urging the community to come forward with information on unlicensed firearms.”
