THE wait is finally over. President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced his cabinet on Wednesday night.The president addressed the nation on the composition of the National Executive from the Union Buildings in Tshwane.Making his announcement Ramaphosa said the state reconfiguration process has been guided by the need to direct resources to where they will have the greatest impact Former President Jacob Zuma’s Cabinet had 36 ministers and a deputy in every ministry, overseeing 45 departments. Ramaphosa said that following the elections, the administration was given a clear mandate.”To give effect to this mandate, we need a capable, efficient cabinet,” he said.He will be signing performance agreements will ministers and deputy ministers and will take action where there’s no satisfactory delivery.  A number of portfolios have been combined, there’s now 28 ministries from 36.
