Desmin Moonsamy was crowned the winner of the Mr India South Africa 2018 competition at Hilton Hotel.
Having excelled in arts, business, culture and philanthropy, Desmin Moonsamy finally bagged the Mr India South Africa title at the Hilton Hotel, recently.
This national event also awarded many young male entrepreneurs in the business spectrum, in which Moonsamy was a recipient of a businessman award.
Moonsamy described his big night as a combination of nervous exhilaration.
“Every time I walked on that stage I was overwhelmed with feelings of anxiousness and excitement. I walked on that stage in representation of all the things that I believe in,” Moonsamy said.
The competition saw young men from different walks of life, share the same sentiments of being good role models who impact the communities they live in.

Moonsamy went on to express how the competition was one of the highlights in his life.
“I was able to create a lifelong bond with the other contestants in the competition. I have learned so much from each of them. Witnessing the growth from just being contestants in a competition to having a gentleman’s club and ultimately a brotherhood bond was one of my favourite moments in the competition,” he said.
“We are at a point where we plan on keeping and maintaining this bond for a very long time to come. We are all winners of the competition at the end of the day. But I still had to bring the title home to Durban,” Moonsamy said.
Moonsamy was crowned Mr India South Africa, with Rushil Jina from Johannesburg came in first place and Riaz Saint and Shiven Moodley, who are also from Johannesburg, were placed second.
