Eldorado park Johannesburg

The Eldorado Park police communications officer, constable Fezeka Khobo warned residents not to roam the streets of the Greater Eldorado Park alone following a surge in robberies.
She said, “Almost every day there is a robbery which takes place and the victims are generally people who are alone.”
According to the communications officer, a 30-year-old man was arrested for robbery with a firearm in Jan De Necker Street in neighbouring Freedom Park.
Khobo said, “It is alleged that the victim was pointed at with a firearm by a man who she knew. He approached her and grabbed her handbag which held all her belongings and an undisclosed amount of money.”

She continued, “We were able to arrest the suspect who is being detained at the Eldorado Park Police Station and is to appear in court soon.”

In another incident, a 25-year-old man was arrested on charges of common assault in Goud Street, Old Eldorado Park.
Khobo said, “The victim of the assault alleged that the man approached her and throw a bottle and a brick at her before assaulting her. The attacker was arrested and is being detained at the Eldorado Park Police Station holding cells until he appears in court,” she added.
Other arrests were made over the past week and most included theft. “Males were arrested for possession of stolen property and in another incident, another male was arrested for theft from a motor vehicle,” said Khobo.
“A business robbery took place on Sunday, February 10. Three suspects were arrested in relation to the robbery,” she added.
