Jul 5, 2019East London – A 21-year-old man is expected in court in East London on Friday after he was arrested by police for robbing commuters at a local train station.”Following recent reports of robbery cases around the Cambridge railway station where people were allegedly robbed at knife point, Cambridge SAPS police launched an operation in the early hours of Wednesday,” said police spokesperson, Captain Mluleki Mbi.”While still busy on this operation, a robbery complaint was recieved and immediately police reacted.”They pounced on a 21-year-old man, who was positively identified by the complanant on the scene.”Capt Mbi said that the suspect was found in possession of two cellphones.”He also led the police to where other stolen items are kept in a shack at Cambridge location.”Capt Mbi said that on searching the shack, police recovered more cellphones, tablet, bank cards, knives, train tickets and ID cards.”The suspect will appear before the East London magistrate’s court on Friday facing charges of robbery.”Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
