Efforts are underway to return the lion that escaped from the Karoo National Park…

Efforts are underway to return the lion that escaped from the Karoo National Park back to Beaufort West. He spent the night behind bars in Sutherland in the Northern Cape. A group of locals gathered as the lion was removed from police cells this morning. He was darted and caught yesterday evening on a farm about 20 kilometres from Sutherland. The lion was then transported by helicopter to the local police station. He’ll be taken back home in a crate. Last week, SANParks said it received reports that several animals had been killed on a farm near Sutherland. The lion had been on the run for close to a month.
