Many residents were left trapped following the ‘freak’ storm.
Various rescue organisations including IPSS Medical Rescue in the North Coast, and Police Search and Rescue, spent the past few hours assisting in the greater Durban area following a storm, which wreaked havoc in many areas.
Search and rescue operations are still being conducted throughout the area.
According to a report issued by IPSS, multiple structural collapses have left at least six dead and many more missing and buried under mud and debris.

IPSS Medical Rescue crews together with other agencies are still out preforming search and rescue operations.
Emergency services are currently on standby.

Due to the severe flooding, they are urging all motorists to be cautious.
