Phoenix Durban

Members of the Mountview Secondary School Environment Club plant a yellowwood tree at school.

Mountview Secondary School celebrated National Arbour Week by launching the MVSS Environment Club, recently.
The dedicated group of pupils presented an informative talk at assembly, encouraging pupils to be more responsible citizens and making them aware of the importance of taking responsibility of their environment.

The highlight of the delightful initiative was having Environment Club co-ordinators, Mrs Y Perumal and Mrs P Bhagwandeen, together with club members, planting the tree of the year: a yellowwood tree, on the school premises.
The staff and pupils of Mountview Secondary School hope that the launch of the club encourages other schools and youngsters in the area to make a difference in the environment.
