Festive season operations yield positive results for Verulam cops

Verulam SAPS recently launched a joint operation which was conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit and detectives.
It focused on drugs, liquor and outstanding suspects as part of the festive season clamp down.
Twelve arrests were made for drug-related offences.

In one case, the suspect was found in possession of 61 tablets of heroin. The total value of drugs recovered was R3, 000.
There was also an arrest made at the famous Trenance Park taxi rank on Moss Street.

Another arrest was made for dealing in liquor without a license and possession of dangerous weapons.
The detectives, under the command of Cpt Dorasamy, arrested outstanding suspects for offenses ranging from house break-in, common assault, and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and theft.

Station commander, Brig Dludla, commended the members and said due to the joint operation, high police visibility was shown and this should help in the reduction of serious crimes.
There will be further operations planned during the festive season.
