Fifty new homeowners have received their title deeds at Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo. Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Tertuis Simmers, and local Mayor Colan Sylvester handed over the deeds to beneficiaries of the Rosevalley Housing Project. Simmers says more than 300 title deeds will be handed over in the next few days. ” Our continued aim is to give our residents a sense of security and pride in having full ownership of their properties. I was honoured to share in the joy of a momentous occasion in the lives of these beneficiaries. As the WC government we’ll continue striving towards establishing an enabling environment so we’re better placed to grant beneficiaries security of tenure and make more residents legal homeowners by handing over these title deeds.” The oldest recipient, dressed in a blue overall jacket, was 74 year old Blake Jantjies.
