Firefighters are battling to contain a fire at the Silverboom Nature Reserve near Somerset West outside Cape Town. FireCommander, Edward Bosch, says crews are currently assessing the extent of the fire and whether any structures have been affected: “The City’s fire and rescue services responded to the mountain slopes alight at Silverboom Kloof Road, Somerset West. Six fire engines, three water tenders with a total of 50 fire fighters are currently fighting the fire. Two city choppers have also been dispatched to assist with water bombing.”

INFORMATION RECEIVED …From someone who’s family is a member of WORKING FOR FIRE…apparently these members do not get paid a salary if there are no fires….they only get paid a salary when they fight fires….thus they have been starting fires to fight the fires they started so that they can get paid a salary.
