Five British tourists have been rescued after their site seeing catamaran capsized on entry into Table Bay harbour. Spokesperson for the Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), Craig Lambinon, says one of the foreign visitors, as well as two of the local crew members on the vessel sustained light injuries in the ordeal. Lambinon says a successful operation and quick response by rescue workers avoided a tragedy: “On arrival on scene all 8 persons were accounted for and found on the upturned hull of the boat, all transferred onto a rescue craft and brought to the NSRI base in Table Bay harbour, suffering hypothermia, some bruising, all in shock, all taken to hospital. Two crew members suffered minor injuries, the 5 tourists were taken to hospital where they were X-rayed, one woman fractured her shoulder and was treated for that.”
