An in-depth investigation by the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit concluded with the arrest of three men and a woman, suspected of committing fraudulent activities on South Beach Road in La Mercy, recently.
The accused were apprehended on July 8 at about 6pm and appeared in the Verulam Magistrates Court, last week, facing charges of fraud and suspected stolen property.

Provincial police spokeswoman, Col Thembeka Mbhele said, “The team proceeded to the identified house where they discovered laptops, cellphones, bank cards, a suspected stolen vehicle as well as other items.”
Fraudulent documents were also seized from the accused, who are between the ages of 24 and 30.
It is alleged that the laptops were used to process fraudulent documents.

“Charges of fraud and possession of suspected stolen property were opened for investigation at Tongaat SAPS. The vehicle that was seized, was taken to the police pound for further investigation,” added Col Mbhele.
