Phoenix SAPS once again wishes to reiterate the importance of being cautious, especially when on the road at night.
This intensified warning comes after an armed robbery on Mt Edgecombe Drive, opposite the Kendlewood Estate, last Monday.

The victim alleged that he was in the company of a friend, walking home from work, when a silver/blue Hyundai i20s stooped.
The occupants asked the victim for directions to the Whitehouse Shopping Centre.

“The victim provided them with the directions and the car drove for about three metres before coming to a stop. The victim stated that two men exited the vehicle, each armed with a firearm,” said communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt L Naidoo.

The suspects searched the victims and took their work bags before getting back into the vehicle and fleeing towards Umhlanga.
“The victim claimed that his bag contained a Huawei Y5 and a Nokia X2. Both cellphones are valued at R5, 000. The second victim alleged that he had a Samsung Galaxy A5, valued at R10, 000. No arrests have been made yet,” she added.
