The appointment of Mr AR Ramdhanni to the post of deputy principal at Glenhaven Secondary School was welcomed by both staff and pupils.
The announcement was made at a special assembly on the first day of school in the new term.
Mr Ramdhanni replaces Mr P Pillay, a seasoned teacher, who retired as deputy principal in February 2018.
In his announcement, principal, Philip Reddy, acknowledged the work done by Mr Ramdhanni as HOD of humanities, earning his new position as deputy principal at the school.
He said, “Mr Ramdhanni joined the staff in 2013 as HOD and since then worked tirelessly to ensure that the school develop in leaps and bounds producing excellence.”

This is verified by the matric performance of 98 percent in the first term and now 96 percent in the second term.
“He took a keen interest in ensuring that the school and its surrounds are well maintained and created a conducive environment for teaching and learning to take place. Ramdhanni has worked hand and glove with me in the physical infrastructure upgrade,” added Reddy.
Mr Ramdhanni has taken ownership of the school through his contributions, therefore his appointment is welcomed and is a well-deserved one.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Ramdhanni re-committed himself to continue to work in the interest of the school and the pupils and the greater community of Verulam.
