HELDERBERG CRIME WATCH shared their post.
Early on this evening ( 9Feb ) our control room received a call reporting an intruder in residential premises in Prospect ave. The intruder had been cornered by the owners dog and after realising that the owner had seen him decided to go on the run but not before stabbing the owners K9.
HCW/Vetus Schola patrol officers Bevin and Jaco plotted their strategy over the radio and within a minute or two Bevin spotted the suspect heading for the shopping area in Caledon st with Jaco and the owner close behind him. Bevin swiftly bore down on the suspect and after a very brief struggle the handcuffs were on.
The suspect was handed over to SAPS for further processing.
According to reports the home owners dog, whilst requiring stitches, will thank heavens be OK.
WELL DONE to HCW/Vetus Schola patrol officers Bevin and Jaco for your swift response and for always putting the community first.
