Domestic workers in Umhlanga were recently treated to a free domestic training class on how to clean household appliances and also received demonstrations on how to use them.
The domestic classes were conducted by Hirsch’s Umhlanga, who host monthly domestic workshops with the aim to contribute to women’s empowerment and provide them with opportunities to grow and realise their full potential, regardless of what they do.

At the monthly workshops, a domestic worker of the month is announced, and this month’s title went to Rongini Masendeke who won a R300 Hirsch’s voucher.
Public relations officer, Denver Naicker, said emphasis was placed on how important it is to keep the home clean.
There were demonstrations on how to use a dishwasher effectively, the safe and hygienic use of a washing machine and how to get rid of dreaded stains.
“Our Hirsch’s experts demonstrated the appropriate use of the cleaning products,” he added.
