Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has resigned. The Presidency says in a statement that it has accepted Gigaba’s resignation. Gigaba had reportedly met with President Cyril Ramaphosa at the weekend over calls for his resignation. He had been accused of being a central figure in state capture. The Public Protector also found that Gigaba had lied under oath about the Fireblade matter. He was also heavily criticised for a sex video which was circulated on the internet.
