A Phoenix woman was assaulted in her home and robbed of her valuables and a firearm in Highstone Road, Phoenix, recently.
Communications officer of Phoenix SAPS, Cpt Louise Naidoo, said the victim alleged that last Thursday at 12:30pm, she was at her home in Highstone, cleaning the kitchen when three unknown men entered through the open kitchen door.

Two of them were wearing balaclavas, and they were armed with knife and a firearm.
The assailants made demands for cash and then took the victim upstairs to search for valuables.
They found a safe which contained jewellery and the victim’s partner’s firearm- a CZ 83.

They assaulted the woman on her head with the butt of a firearm.

“At that stage, a neighbour called for the complainant and upon hearing this, the suspects fled, taking the safe with them. It is not certain if the suspects fled on foot or were in a vehicle,” said Cpt Naidoo.
They stole items to the total value of R20, 000, a CZ83 firearm and one magazine with 10 X 9mm rounds.
