Its #goodnewsThursday for the Betty’s Bay and Kogelberg Fires – Status, the IC reports that the fire was largely contained (95%) with the only active fire in the Steenbras River area and descending to Clarence Drive (refer Photo 1).
Although good news we are anticipating, and are ready for, flare-ups that will require significant effort and still pose risk for spread.
Wind shift to W-NW will test controlled lines today while teams continue with mopping up and respond to flare ups as required.
This containment was achieved by 22.00 last night – WELL DONE TO THE TEAMS and perseverance from the Command Team. Photo 2 – 9/1/19 1700 burn area map

Division A – Mop-up operations continue and also full contingent of resources applied
The active line in Steenbras River area (close to Clarence Drive) is not threatening.
