In the Kitchen with Babez: Gourmet gulab jamuns

Social media’s local culinary queen, Babez Naidoo, who regularly shares posts of her cuisine on Facebook’s popular group, Appetite, shares her recipe for mouth-watering gulab jamuns.
In celebration of Diwali, kitchens all around the world will be filled with the aroma of decadent sweet and savory treats.
Try out this delightfully delicious recipe and add to the sweetness of your Diwali celebration.
You will need:
1 klim
1 tsp elachi powder
½ tsp nutmeg
3 tablespoons butter ghee or butter
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 tablespoons semolina
3/4 cup plain flour
2 cups self raising flour
Dessicated coconut if desired
For syrup:
1½ cup sugar
1 cup water
Method for gulab jamuns:

In a bowl, add klim, elachi powder, nutmeg, butter ghee, bicarbonate of soda and semolina. Mix well.
Add the plain flour and self raising flour and form into a soft dough. If more flour is need, add self raising flour.
Roll into shapes with your palm and fry in half butter ghee and half oil on medium till golden brown.
For the syrup: 
Put sugar and water into a pot. Boil on medium heat until sticky. Dip in syrup and drain. You can the gulab jamuns in coconut as well.
