Former KZN Hawks Head General Johan Booysen and his co-accused may be off the hook for racketeering, but could still face other charges. The NPA today withdrew racketeering charges against Booysen and the so-called Cato Manor Unit. In 2012, General Booysen was accused of commanding a ‘death squad’ in the province.
The charges were withdrawn and reinstated several times over the years, most recently by former NDPP Shaun Abrahams. Racketeering carries a life sentence. General Johan Booysen joins us for more.
