Langa High School on the Cape Flats says it is aiming for a 70…

Langa High School on the Cape Flats says it is aiming for a 70 percent matric pass rate this year. Seventy-four candidates wrote English Papers at the school today. They are among more than 53-thousand full time candidates who’ve registered for the exams in the Western Cape. Langa High Deputy Principal, Nombeko Ndlolvu, says she hopes learners will do well: “We’ve got very dedicated learners who were really studying hard and I’m hoping and I’m definitely sure we’ll improve our results. This year, probably 70 plus, I hope we are going to get 70 plus, but not less than 60 percent. I’m sure.” Meanwhile, Grade 12 learners at Jan van Riebeeck High School in Cape Town say the English paper written today was fair. About 80 learners sat for the exams at the school: “The exam went very well. A lot of preparation went into for the exam. I really enjoyed the comprehension … I wrote well. I didn’t really have any problems with any of the questions in particular It was a very nice paper to start the exam with …. I think the rest was reasonable with regards to the time allocated and the standard of the questions and it was a pleasure writing it, it was very enjoyable.”
